*UPDATE: Power has been restored in southern Kosciusko County.*

CLAYPOOL — More than 1,000 NIPSCO customers are currently without power in southern Kosciusko County.

The NIPSCO website shows multiple outages in Kosciusko County, including the areas of Claypool and Burket. A phone call to NIPSCO’s customer service line states that Silver Lake is also experiencing outages and that crews are currently in-route or on site to restore power.

As of 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, the NIPSCO website shows 845 people in Claypool and 179 people in Burket are without power. However, Silver Lake is not listed with outages on the website.

The cause of the outages has not been determined. According to the NIPSCO website, power is estimated to be restored between the hours of 2-3 p.m.
