Kosciusko County

Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:

7:56 a.m. Thursday, March 12, County Farm Road, south of East CR 450S, Warsaw. Drivers: Melissa J. Quintero, 44, Spring Street, Laketon; and Lucas J. Gilbertson, 23, Jefferson Street, Silver Lake. The vehicles collided as Gilbertson was making a left turn onto East CR 450W. Damage up to $5,000.

7:32 a.m. Thursday, March 12, Armstrong Road, Leesburg. Driver: Doris E. Lewis, 65, Ivy Court, Nappanee. Lewis’ vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $2,500. 

5:50 a.m. Thursday, March 12, Crystal Lake Road, Warsaw. Driver: Janet A. See, 54, Levi Lee Road, Warsaw. See’s vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $5,000. 

4:13 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, North CR 800W, Warsaw. Drivers: Mary L. Miller, 32, West CR 600N, Etna Green; and Michael A. Giordano, 34, Heather Lake Drive, Osceola. Giordano was traveling north on CR 800N and said Miller’s vehicle, which was traveling south, began to cross the center line. In an effort to avoid a collision, he went off the roadway and into a field. Miller said she had been tired and put her phone on the dash to watch a video so that she could stay awake. She said she looked up and realized she was driving left of center but was unable to avoid a collision with Giordano’s vehicle. Miller’s vehicle struck Giordano’s vehicle on the driver’s side. Miller said she may have passed out prior to the accident. Damage up to $50,000. 

7:07 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, West CR 1350N, Nappanee. Driver: Anthony S. Guyse, 27, Water Street, Bremen. Guyse said a semi was pulling out of a driveway so he swerved to avoid a collision. His vehicle went off the road and struck a fence post. Damage up to $10,000. 

5:22 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, South CR 800W, Warsaw. Driver: Crystal Lybarger, 34, Walnut Street, Mentone. Lybarger’s vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $10,000. 

3:28 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, Ryerson Road, Pierceton. Driver: Dustin L. Johnson, 33, Terrell Street, Andrews. Johnson swerved to avoid striking a deer, and his vehicle ended up in a ditch. Damage up to $5,000. 

1:47 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, Backwater Road, North Webster. Driver: Barry L. Damer, 48, Highway 6, New Paris. Damer’s vehicle went off the road and struck a utility pole. Damage up to $25,000. 

5:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 10, Old Road 30, east of CR 650W, Atwood. Driver: Juan Adame, 54, Old Road 30, Warsaw. Adames’s vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $5,000. 

4:54 p.m. Sunday, March 8, North CR 900W, north of SR 19, Nappanee. Driver: Howard Hochstetler, 17, North CR 1000W, Nappanee. Hochstetler’s vehicle went off the road and struck a utility pole. Damage up to $10,000. 

Silver Lake

Officers with the Silver Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:

12:25 a.m. Sunday, March 8, SR 15, south of CR 950S, Silver Lake. Driver: Tomasenia A. Roles, 43, South SR 13, Wabash. Roles was traveling south on SR 15 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $10,000.

Warsaw

Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:

9:14 p.m. Thursday, March 12, SR 15, south of Short Ridge Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Eldon R. Long, 43, East Market Street, Warsaw. Long’s vehicle struck a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
