NORTHWOOD 3, WEST NOBLE 2
The Panthers pulled out a narrow win over West Noble Tuesday to close the regular season with a sterling 14-1 record.

Ben Vincent topped Andrew Shaw, 6-3, 6-0 at 2 singles, Chase Horner beat Luke Schermerhorn, 6-1, 6-0 at 3 singles, and Jack Wysong and Landon Holland defeated Brayden Bohde and Dillan Sumowski in another 1 and 0 decision at 1 singles.

NorthWood’s JV also won, 6-5.

The Panthers will open sectional play at their home tournament Thursday opposite the winner of a Bethany Christian versus Goshen match Wednesday.

GRACE WOMEN 7, BETHEL 0
Grace’s women’s tennis team kicked off the Crossroads League Tournament in emphatic fashion, dominating Bethel 7-0 on Tuesday.

The Lady Lancers will travel to second-seeded Marian on Thursday for the semifinals of the tournament.

Emily Mast and Dayana Ortega were efficient at No. 1 doubles with a 6-1 win. Carrie Copeland and Jayna Armstrong won easily at No. 2 (6-2), and Morgan Mast and Gretchen Adams cruised to a 6-3 victory at No. 3.

Grace had three perfect singles’ victories. Emily Mast (No. 1), Ortega (No. 3) and Morgan Mast (No. 5) did not drop a game in quick outings.

Copeland coasted to a 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 2 singles, and Shelby Bankson also won comfortably 6-2, 6-0 at No. 6.

Armstrong wrapped up the sweep with a 6-2, 6-4 scoreline at No. 4.

GRACE MEN 4, TAYLOR 3
Grace’s men’s tennis team kept its season alive with a 4-3 win over Taylor in the quarterfinals of the Crossroads League Tournament.

The Lancers, the No. 3 seed in the tourney, will travel to No. 2 Marian on Thursday in the tournament semifinals. The winner of the league tournament will punch its ticket to the NAIA National Championships.

Grace picked up an early edge on a hot, humid day at Miller Athletic Complex. The Lancers won all three doubles’ courts to secure the doubles’ point.

Pavle Popovic and Milan Savic won 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, and Ramiro Candia and Jacob Gray won by the same score at No. 3.

Max Rozas and Fabricio Galvan secured the doubles’ sweep with a 6-3 victory at No. 2.

Candia was spotless with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 5 singles, and Mauricio Corty earned a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 6.

Rozas wrapped up the team victory with a hard-fought win at No. 1 singles. He dropped the opening set 4-6 but recovered to win 6-3, 6-2 over the last two sets.
