NORTH WEBSTER — A group of scurvy dogs that get crazy once a year on the waters, do it for a reason. It’s all possible because of these folks called “pirates” locals and lakers too.

Recently, these pirates rolled into the North Webster American Legion Post 253, not looking for any lost treasures, but to share their bounty with the veterans.

The Barbee Lake Pirates presented a $1,000 check to the Legion Van Fund. That fund is used to maintain the two vans that take veterans to the VA hospital and other doctor appointments. The vans are on the roads almost daily.

The pirates have sent out a challenge to all other organizations to donate to a worthy cause in the community.
