SYRACUSE — A couple of years ago, the team at Rogers Electro-Matics decided they wanted to give back to a particular group in the community, Little Lambs Preschool and Daycare. It was an employee decision backed by the company’s president, Bob Haller.

He liked the idea so much he said the company would match whatever was raised by the employees.
In that first year, together they raised more than $11,000. They enjoyed it so much they decided to do it again the following year. This time the Rose Home North was chosen. Once again more than $11,000 was raised.

The team at Rogers Electro-Matics has enjoyed giving back to the community so much they are doing it again in 2019. This time the money will be spread out among various groups in the community.

Each week the employees discuss how much money has been raised and who the next recipient could be they want to share it with. On March 15, employees made their first donation of the year to North Webster Elementary School. A check for $1,483.20 was awarded to Principal Lee Snider and cafeteria manager Kerri Hartman by Katie Hurley on behalf of Rogers Electro-Matics. The funds are to be used toward unpaid lunch balances at the school.

Another donation was made the week of April 16. This time school supplies were donated. Toward the end of the year, many teachers are running low on supplies. Rogers Electro-Matics was able to donate supplies to five different teachers in three different schools — Mrs. Leininger, Syracuse Elementary; Mrs. Mangas, Mrs. Possell and Mrs. Fiedeke, Milford Elementary; and Mrs. Hoffer, Warsaw Elementary.
Rogers intends to build up funds throughout the summer and help more of those in need when school starts again.

Studies show giving is also good for the giver — boosting physical and mental health.

Rogers Electro-Matics is a contract manufacturer of PCB Assemblies located in Syracuse. Established in 1964 as a manufacturer of electronic assemblies, they have increased their manufacturing capabilities year after year.
