School Resource Officers
We see heroes everywhere. Sometimes they are on the big movie screen. Sometimes they put fires out. Sometimes they pull up behind the scene of an accident. This morning I saw four of them.
They were at Warsaw High School. If I were an honest mama bear, I have to admit a bit of fear this year as I dropped two of my most prized possessions at school. It’s a different world than when I walked the halls of WCHS. A bit scarier. Yet something happened when I pulled in. I saw our amazing officers not only present on the campus but cheerfully interacting with our kids. My heart was calmed and filled with gratefulness. These men are unsung heroes to me. As I do each year when I drop my kids off, I took an extra lap around to pray for this building, the teachers, administration and the kids (this year for kindness…that we lead the state in understanding what that is). And, as I drove by the squad cars, you better believe I prayed for their families and the important work they do. I will do everything in my power this year to remind them that they are loved, and we are grateful.
We mama bears sure do love you!
