SYRACUSE — Syracuse Parks & Recreation Department is hosting Touch-A-Truck from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 6, at the Syracuse Community Center, North Long Drive. This hands-on event will provide kids with the opportunity to see, touch and explore their favorite big trucks, heavy equipment and emergency vehicles as well as interact with community support leaders who operate them.

The event will feature various emergency vehicles, construction equipment, tractors, semi-trucks and a school bus. In addition to the vehicles, the event will also have a variety of safety related activities including a bicycle rodeo. The groups represented at the event include the Turkey Creek Fire Department, Syracuse Police Department, Syracuse Public Works Department, Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Lippert Components, Adams Auto Salvage, Greenmark Equipment, Lakeland Youth Center, Syracuse Wawasee Trails Committee, American Red Cross, Syracuse Lions Club, Camp Alexander Mack, Kosciusko County Tobacco Free Coalition and Med Stat.

Bring the entire family to enjoy sitting in these trucks and learning about what they do, how they work and how they benefit the community.
