SOUTH WHITLEY — The Whitko boys basketball team had its four-game winning streak stopped cold Friday night. Visiting Northfield escaped the Wildcats 70-68 for its second-straight win in the Three Rivers Conference.

Nate Walpole led Whitko with 29 points and was one of three Wildcats in double figures. River West and Spencer Sroufe were the other two with 14 and 13 points, respectively. Sroufe completed a double-double with 12 rebounds and added seven blocks.

Whitko (8-6, 3-2) plays at Maconaquah next Saturday. Northfield (5-8, 2-3) plays at Norwell on Wednesday.
