wawasee-high-schoolSYRACUSE — Wawasee High School’s marching band, known as the Marching Warrior Pride, qualified for the semi-state competition for the first time in the school’s history. A bronze rating at the Indiana State School Music Association’s regional contest Saturday, Oct. 15, at Chesterton High School was enough to qualify for the semi-state.

The Warriors compete in Class B and have 41 members in the band this year. Ken Brower is the director of the band.

According to the ISSMA website, issma.net, Wawasee is scheduled to take the stage to perform at 3:49 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at Indianapolis Pike High School for the semi-state competition. It is the last round of competition before the state contest.
