
Indiana State Police are leading the investigation into the stabbing that happened in the Enchanted Hills area at about 6:56 p.m. Tuesday.
The victim, Joseph Lee Coon, 27, of Cromwell, was treated at Kosciusko Community Hospital for his injuries and later released.

A Syracuse police officer was first on scene and tending to Coon when Trooper Tim Carpenter arrived on scene. Carpenter was given the suspect’s name and address and he and the Syracuse officer went to the home of Kenny Ferguson, 61, 12021 N. Raggedy Ann, Cromwell, and located and arrested him without further incident.
Ferguson was arrested for battery with a deadly weapon and is being held on a $5000.00 surety bond in the Kosciusko County Jail.
Police are not saying what the motive for the stabbing may have been.
Assisting on scene were officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, Syracuse Police Department and the Syracuse Fire Department.
