NORTH WEBSTER — Students at North Webster Elementary School enjoyed a visit Friday, Oct. 2, from the North Webster-Tippecanoe Township Fire Department. During the course of the day, they were able to listen to a fire safety presentation given by Battalion Chief Dave Rensberger about fire alarms, having escape routes and a meeting place, how fires progress and standards such as stop, drop and roll, and stay low and go.

Outside, fire trucks were on display with students able to see what all the compartments hold and explore the cab. Since it was a bit nippy, hoses were not sprayed.

National Fire Prevention Week is Oct. 4-10 and October is Fire Prevention Month.
