WARSAW – Long-running Warsaw restaurant “Schoops Hamburgers” has been permanently closed.
The restaurant with its iconic diner exterior on US 30 on Warsaw’s east side had been “temporarily closed” since the pandemic set in, leading some fans on the “To Go Kosciusko” Facebook page to speculate about its future.
Owner Jack Rio has confirmed with InkFreeNews that the restaurant is closing permanently.
Schoops Hamburgers first opened in 1999. Schoops American style menu included various hamburgers and sandwiches, along with other meals such as chicken tenders and hot dogs.
Rio said that the building is for sale and very well could be “something else.”
There is a listing for the building to be purchased on RealNex.com
