Pierceton

Pierceton Police Department investigated the following accident:

• 9:20 p.m. Sunday, May 17, South CR 700E, west of East CR 350S, Pierceton. Driver: Matthew P. Rodgers, 26, Van Ness Road, Pierceton. Rodgers was traveling north on CR 700E when a deer ran out onto the roadway and struck Rodgers’ vehicle. Damage up to $10,000. 

Warsaw

Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:

• 1:29 p.m. May 24, in the Owen’s parking lot on Center Street. Drivers: Charlotte Hawkins, 71, East CR 1000N, Syracuse, and a vehicle registered to a Chevrolet Malibu Owner of the second vehicle came out of the store and discovered damage to her car and a note on her windshield identifying the vehicle that caused the damage. Police later traced it down to Hawkins who later said she did not think the damage merited a call to police. Damage was as much as $2,500.
• 8:16 p.m. May 24, North Maple Avenue and East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Darwin Busz, 62, South Union Street, Warsaw, and Nathan Nibert, 33, of Brookfield Circle, Warsaw. Busz was traveling on Maple and stopped at the intersection and then proceeded and hit Nibert’s vehicle as it entered the intersection. Nibert had the right-of-way. Busz said he did not see the vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
• 4:27 p.m., May 23, on North Reed Street, just north of East Main Street, Warsaw. Driver: Robert Herbert, 40, of East Clark Street. Warsaw, told police he southbound on Reed Street when he swerved to avoid hitting children in the street and struck a parking sign. Damage: Less than $750.
• 8:08 p.m., May 23, Center Street, Warsaw. Driver: John Sikora, 50, of North First Street, Pierceton. Sikora was backing out of a parking space in Owen’s Parking lot and struck a parked Impala, whose owner was not identified. Damage as much as $2,500.
• 11:10 p.m., May 22, East Clark Street, east of North Park Avenue, Warsaw.  A Honda Rebel, apparently stolen, struck a bush, cashing damage to the right side and undercarriage. Vehicle was then discovered. The person who the car was registered to did not know it was gone and then filled out an auto theft report. Damage was up to $5,000.
