WARSAW — As of noon Friday, May 22, the Kosciusko County Health Department reported no new cases of COVID-19. The county’s total number of positive cases remains at 68.

At least 30 cases in the county have recovered. Currently, the Indiana State Department of Health website reflects that Kosciusko County has 71 positive cases. However, KCHD identified three individuals on the state’s COVID-19 list that do not belong.

According to Nichole LaLonde, KCHD epidemiologist, one individual was listed two times; two other individuals were identified to reside in Noble and Elkhart Counties. These changes will be reflected in tomorrow’s case numbers, given Kosciusko County does not have any new cases to report.

Statewide, the latest posting on the ISDH website shows the number of COVID-19 deaths in Indiana rose to 1,791.

The total positive number of COVID-19 cases in Indiana is now at 30,409. More than 208,000 Hoosiers have been tested for COVID-19.

Locally, Whitley County has 31 positive cases, Marshall County has 54 positive cases, and Noble County has 167 positive cases.

Elkhart County has 903 positive cases, which is up from 844 reported on Thursday.

Fulton and Wabash Counties’ case numbers remain unchanged at 46 and 71, respectively.

Cass County, which is south of Fulton County and includes Logansport, has 1,578 positive cases. In other northern Indiana counties, Lake County has 3,128 positive cases; Allen County has 1,191 positive cases; and St. Joseph County has 1,097 positive cases.

Marion County, which includes Indianapolis, has the most cases in the state at 8,928.

According to the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center, more than 298,000 people in the United States have recovered from COVID-19.
