WARSAW — As of noon Tuesday, May 19, the Kosciusko County Health Department reported three new cases of COVID-19, bringing the county’s total number of positive cases to 62.

Statewide, the latest posting on the Indiana State Department of Health website shows the number of COVID-19 deaths in Indiana rose to 1,678, which is up from 1,621 reported on Monday, May 18.

The total positive number of COVID-19 cases in Indiana is now at 28,705. More than 189,000 Hoosiers have been tested for COVID-19.

Locally, Whitley County has 27 positive cases, Marshall County has 44 positive cases and Fulton County has 45 positive cases.

Elkhart County has 733 positive cases, which is up from 687 reported on Monday.

Wabash and Noble Counties’ case numbers remain unchanged at 71 and 152, respectively.

Cass County, which is south of Fulton County and includes Logansport, has 1,560 positive cases. In other northern Indiana counties, Lake County has 2,946 positive cases; Allen County has 1,053 positive cases; and St. Joseph County has 1,014 positive cases.

Marion County, which includes Indianapolis, has the most cases in the state at 8,541.

According to the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center, more than 283,000 people in the United States have recovered from COVID-19.
