WARSAW — As of noon Monday, May 18, the Kosciusko County Health Department reported three new cases of COVID-19, bringing the county’s total number of positive cases to 59.

Statewide, the latest posting on the Indiana State Department of Health website shows the number of COVID-19 deaths in Indiana rose to 1,621. Seven deaths were newly reported on Sunday, May 17; the state’s daily death count has not been that low since March 26.

The total positive number of COVID-19 cases in Indiana is now at 28,255. More than 183,000 Hoosiers have been tested for COVID-19.

Locally, Marshall County has 42 positive cases, Fulton County has 44 positive cases, Wabash County has 71 positive cases, and Noble County has 152 positive cases.

Elkhart County has 687 positive cases, which is up from 609 reported on Friday, May 15.

Whitley County’s case number remains unchanged at 28.

Cass County, which is south of Fulton County and includes Logansport, has 1,552 positive cases. In other northern Indiana counties, Lake County has 2,886 positive cases; Allen County has 1,033 positive cases; and St. Joseph County has 984 positive cases.

Marion County, which includes Indianapolis, has the most cases in the state at 8,406.

According to the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center, more than 272,000 people in the United States have recovered from COVID-19.
