WARSAW — The Kosciusko County Health Department on Friday released the number of COVID-19 cases by zip codes.

The total number of cases recorded on the zip code map does not represent the total number of cases KCHD has reported. According to Nichole LaLonde, KCHD epidemiologist, this is due to a delay in receiving demographics from the Indiana State Department of Health.

Twenty-seven of those who have tested positive reside in Warsaw, which is the most densely populated area in the county. Five were reported in Syracuse; four in Mentone; and three in Pierceton.

As of noon Friday, May 15, KCHD reported three new cases of COVID-19, bringing the county’s total number of positive cases to 56.

Locally, Whitley County Health Department reported the county’s second COVID-19 death on Thursday, May 14.

According to data on the ISDH website, Whitley County has 28 positive cases. In total, there have been 326 tests administered in the county.

Statewide, the latest posting on the ISDH website shows the number of COVID-19 deaths in Indiana rose to 1,550, which is up from 1,508 reported on May 14.
