WARSAW – Warsaw’s Traffic Safety Commission approved the addition of two new street-side handicapped parking spots on Market Street.

One spot will be next to Fribley Field and the other next to the shopping plaza by the park. There was some concern about the size, however, with Market Street being somewhat narrow.

With the approval of the parking sports, the commission will work to ensure that the proper specifications will be met to make sure the needs of a handicap parking spot will be met.

The commission welcomed a new member, David Albritten, to the board at the virtual meeting held Wednesday, May 6. He was sworn in.

Also approved was the addition of new signs at the Lakeview Middle School crosswalks on Scott Street. Two signs will be installed for both directions of traffic.

The next meeting is 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 3.
