WARSAW — The Kosciusko County Health Department has reported its 19 positive cases for COVID-19.
The county provided the new figure as part of its daily update.
The health department has noted improvement in at least 6 cases and will provide updates in the future, said a news release from the KCHD.
The number of positive cases differs from the number reported earlier from the Indiana State Department of Health COVID-19 dashboard by one case due to a reporting lag, according to county health department epidemiologist Nichole LaLonde.
In some cases, the county health department will receive the information before the ISHD depending on what lab processed the test. The county department received a notification of the positive test earlier this morning. The number of cases reported to the ISDH will update tomorrow at noon.
So far, 63% of confirmed cases are still sick. The percentage of those recovered stands at 32%. Only 5% of the confirmed cases thus far resulted in death. 63% of the patients have been sent home. 21% have been hospitalized. Only 11% have been hospitalized and are using a ventilator.
Please note that the hospitalization rates are determined while the patient was in their ‘infectious period’ and still showing symptoms, said the news release. This does not reflect whether or not the patient recovered, please refer to the recovery rate graphic for this information. Not all that were sent home are considered recovered and not all that were hospitalized are still sick.
