WARSAW – A Kosciusko County man has died from COVID-19.

This case is the first COVID-19 virus-related death in the county. The death was announced by Kosciusko County Health Officer Dr. William Remington. According to Remington, the man was in his 70s and died at a local hospital.

As of 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, the Indiana Department of Health has not registered Kosciusko County’s COVID-19 death in its daily statistics update.

In total, Kosciusko County has 16 confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is up from 14 reported on Tuesday.

According to the ISDH, 203 Hoosiers have died due to COVID-19, which is an increase from 173 deaths reported on Tuesday.

The number of positive cases in Indiana totals 5,943, up from 5,507 on Tuesday.

The number of total tests administered is 30,869.

Locally, Fulton, Wabash and Whitley counties’ positive case numbers remain unchanged from yesterday at three, five and eight, respectively.

Marshall and Noble Counties each have 11 confirmed cases, and Elkhart County has 46.

Marion County, which includes Indianapolis, has the most cases in the state, with 2,290.

In Northern Indiana, Lake County has 461 positive cases; St. Joseph County has 142 positive cases; and Allen County has 95 positive cases.
