WARSAW — Warsaw Community Schools has responded to questions raised after the announcement from Governor Eric Holcomb that all schools in Indiana extend the closing of physical buildings.
During these challenging times, WCS is committed to communicating updates and the latest news through the FAQs on the district website at warsawschools.org.
There are seven specific areas to address:
How many days do students need to complete?
All WCS students are required to complete 160 instructional days. This will be achieved at WCS through the following schedule of continued Monday, Wednesday and Friday eLearning days through May 2020.
This also includes seniors. While specific graduation requirements have been waived, IDOE guidance is attached. This required the successful completion of eLearning assignments.
How will my grades be calculated?
All students are expected to be actively engaged in eLearning and giving their best effort. More information will be forthcoming.
When can I come in and get my personal items?
WCS will follow local and state guidelines to ensure the safety of all. Schools are closed to the public. As additional guidance is given, a plan will be implemented and dates will be posted.
Will there be a summer school program?
This is dependent on local, state and federal guidelines. More information will be posted.
Will there be a graduation ceremony and other special events?
WCS is committed to having these events, if at all possible. It may require altering the date and format. More information will be published as WCS continues to work with local, state and federal guidelines. WCS will adhere to legal directives given.
What will happen over spring break?
There is no eLearning from April 6 to 10. K-12 students will resume eLearning on Monday, April 13. Food Services will also be providing meals to families. Registration is required. This will happen from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday, April 6. More information can be found here.
The health and well-being of WCS students and staff is the utmost priority. Please focus on wellness and take this time to unplug.
