NORTH WEBSTER — While coronavirus has grounded many normal daily activities to a halt, construction continues on the new North Webster Community Public Library building.
The roof has been shingled and exterior brick is being laid while inside drywall has been hung and painting began. The crew is finishing up the ductwork for the heating and cooling system and has started the grid work for the drop ceiling, said a news release from the North Webster Public Library.
Meanwhile, the library continues its push toward its final $50,000 financial goal to purchase additional bookshelves, tables, chairs and other furnishings. There are many ways to give. Donors who give $250 or more will have their names posted on a special giving wall. Donations can also be made online through the library’s website at www.nweb.lib.in.us.
In light of the library being closed until further notice, the library included the following reminders:
During this time of social distancing, you can visit the library’s website to download ebooks, audiobooks and movies by clicking on the eIndiana icon on the right side of the home page. Visit the Research Tools page and explore a variety of databases or play BrainHQ for a fun mental workout. Kids can find fun and educational games to play on the Youth Resources page as well.
The library has recently implemented automatic renewals and a no fine policy. Patrons do not need to visit the library to renew materials since they will be renewed automatically. Materials can be returned to the outside drop box located in the parking lot. If illness or self-isolation prevents materials from being returned on time, patrons will not be fined.
