Warsaw, North Webster YMCA Branches Close Due To Virus
WARSAW — The Kosciusko Community YMCA Warsaw and North Webster branches will be closed for all activities effective at 8 p.m Wednesday, March 18, through a tentative date of March 31.
“It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we make this decision and though difficult, we believe these actions are necessary to help prevent the spread of coronavirus,” said James Swanson, Kosciusko Community YMCA CEO via a press release. “We recognize that this unprecedented situation presents challenges for families, businesses and non-profit organizations alike. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our members that are maintaining their active membership here at the Y.”
The press release also states that the YMCA is currently working to offer free online-home-based exercise classes, with more web-based programming to come.
“These free online resources will be posted via our website, www.kcymca.org, and social media,” said Swanson. “We will also be conducting a deep cleaning and disinfecting of our facility prior to reopening as well as other necessary tasks in order to avoid our annual fall closing.”
