WARSAW — Warsaw Community Schools honored Kosciusko Community Hospital during a special recognition at the Sept. 20 home varsity football game against Northridge.
The event highlighted a continued affiliation between WCS and KCH, while also spotlighting a recent donation from the hospital. KCH staff members were invited to attend the game free of charge and also received vouchers to enjoy complimentary concessions.
To assist WCHS athletic trainers and athletic department staff in reaching the various athletic fields quickly and efficiently, Raccoon Run Golf Course and KCH will be donating a golf cart. This donation is a continuation to the commitment to community betterment.
In addition, KCH is donating over a million dollars in community benefit support to Warsaw Community Schools. Investments include numerous health education, wellness and occupational health, and sports medicine initiatives and opportunities. These include: supporting a new playing surface for the football field, athletic trainers, a strength and conditioning coach, health education events and flyers, job shadowing for biomedical students, classroom lessons, hospital tours for kindergarten students, employee wellness screenings, OPS services, a near-site clinic for WCS employees, health fairs, physicals, flu shots as well as the donation of medical supplies and fitness equipment to WCS schools.
“Warsaw Community Schools is incredibly blessed by our partnership with Kosciusko Community Hospital and Lutheran Health Network,” said WCS Superintendent Dr. David Hoffert. “Their commitment and support to our students and schools is evident in both their donation of monetary and physical resources. KCH and LHN has committed over $1 million to WCS. This investment helped make possible the renovation of the WCHS football field turf, track and athletic training support program. They have also provided hundreds of personnel hours and resources with athletic trainers, strength and conditioning coaches, employee and student health training, EKG screenings and a multitude of other supports. WCS is privileged to call KCH and LHM a partner within our schools through the joint mission of health and wellness in our community. The health of both our students and our community continues to benefit greatly due to this ongoing partnership.”
“Lutheran Health and KCH appreciate the opportunity to support Warsaw Community Schools as this aligns with our mission to promote community health and wellness,” said Jae Dale, Lutheran Health Kosciusko Community Hospital CEO. “We look forward to the continued relationship.”
