Hannah Wanemacher led Triton with a near double-double of 14 points and nine rebounds but needed 15 shots to reach her team-high tally and hit just one of 11 3-point attempts at the game.
Chelsea Johnson chipped in six points, while Whytnie Miller scored four points and pulled down eight rebounds, and Nicole Sechrist finished with four points, two blocked shots and seven rebounds as the Trojans out-rebounded Knox 43-32 and converted 12 offensive caroms into 16 second chance points.
Lindsey Simpson scored 19 points on 9-of-17 shooting to pace Knox (4-3) offensively, and she pulled down six rebounds and led her team’s defense with eight steals. Makayla Richie notched eight points for Knox, which survived a back-and-forth game that saw nine lead changes and four ties.
Triton will look to bounce back in a game with ICGSA 3A, No. 4 Tippecanoe Valley Wednesday at 7:45 p.m.
