Kosciusko

Officers with the Kosciusko Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:

6:44 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 1, North SR 13, north of East CR 400N, North Webster. Driver: Curtis C. Smith, 47, South First Street, Pierceton. Hit deer. Damages up to $2,500.

10:31 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 30, West CR 250S, Warsaw. Drivers: Ronnie L. Prater, 43, East Wooster Road, Pierceton, and Tiffany B. Meeker, 28, West 250S, Warsaw. Prater backed his vehicle into Meeker’s vehicle. Damages up to $5,000.

4:17 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 30, South SR 15, south of West CR 550S, Warsaw. Driver: Shelly Y. Garrett, 48, Walkers Ridge, Warsaw. Garrett fell asleep while driving and veered off the road. Damages up to $10,000.

5:36 p.m., Friday, Sept. 29, West CR 1350N, east of North CR 300W, Milford. Driver: Kip L. Chamberlin, 37, East Centennial Street, Nappanee. Suffered a possible head injury and transported to Goshen Hospital. Chamberlin lost control of his vehicle and went off the road, causing the vehicle to roll. Damages up to $25,000.

1:51 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 28, US 30, west of North CR 350W. Drivers: Louis M. Doty, 75, 16th Street, Paris, Ky., and Evgenii Zhogonov, North Country Club Drive, Aventura, Fla. Doty died from head injuries. Doty’s vehicle was disabled on the roadway and was struck by Zhogonov’s semitractor. Damages up to $50,000.

North Webster

Officers with the North Webster Police Department investigated the following accidents:

12:20 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 30, North Main and East North streets, North Webster. Drivers: Robert C. Bentley, 37, EMS B33A Lane, Warsaw, Shana Hunziker, 24, East Doswell Boulevard, Cromwell, and Kimberly A. Bolt, 47, East CR 375N, Warsaw. Injured; Bolt complained of pain to the neck and a passenger in Hunziker’s vehicle, Myla E. Julian, 6, Cromwell, complained of pain to her entire body; both were not transported. Bentley’s vehicle rear-ended Hunziker’s vehicle which in turn struck Bolt’s vehicle. Damages up to $5,000

8:19 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 27, East Epworth Forest Road, west of North Main Street. Drivers: Alan A. Abair, 62, East Crooked Mile Road, Cromwell and Rebekah L Searer, 29, EMS B61B1 Lane, Warsaw. Adair drove his vehicle in front of Searer’s. Damages up to $5,000.

3:40 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 26, East CR 500N and North CR 700E. Drivers: Marilyn J. Rice, 78, EMS B70 Lane, Warsaw, and Susan K. Kitson, North SR 5, Cromwell. Rice vehicle struck Kitson’s when she turned the corner. Damages up to $10,000.

Warsaw

Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:

4:57 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 30, South Buffalo Street and East Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Drivers: Webb E. Pierce, 64, South Main Street, Wolcottville, and Jasmin Pineda-Astroga, 30, South Maple Street, Milford. Pierce failed to yield to Pienda-Astroga. Damages up to $10,000.

8:21 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 30, East Center Street and North Bronson Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Christine R. Rogers, 30, Hartzler Street, Warsaw, and Patti A. Haines, 65, East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Rogers believed she had the green light and drove through the intersection, hitting Haine’s vehicle. Damages up to $10,000.

11:56 p.m., Friday, Sept. 29, East Robby Drive, east of South CR 250E, Winona Lake. Driver: Duwayne A. Arnett, 54, South 250E, Warsaw. Arnett backed into a parked Winona Lake squad car. Damages up to $5,000.

Winona Lake

Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accidents:

4:20 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 26, Argonne Road and East Market Street, Winona Lake. Drivers: Miguel R. Castro, 24, North Harrison Street, Warsaw, and John L. Barros, 65, Cherry Street, Warsaw. Castros vehicle disregarded the stop sign and struck Barros’ police vehicle. Castro jumped from the vehicle and his vehicle continued to roll hitting a parked vehicle registered to Taylor Chitwood, Argonne Road, Warsaw. Injured; Castro complained of pain to entire body and was transferred to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Damages up to $5,000.

11:20 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 29, Kings Highway, west of Park Avenue. Driver: Holly M. Fountain, 25, North SR 15, Milford. Hit deer. Damage up to $5,000.

Marshall

Officers with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:

3:15 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, 100 block Lincoln Highway and Rose Road, Plymouth. Driver: Robert T. Matz, 87, Orland Park., Ill.; Samuel Schafer, 27, Plymouth. Injured: Matz, a passenger in his vehicle, Lois J. O’Conner, 77, Orland Park, Ill.; Schafer, and a passenger in his vehicle: Alison E. Annear, 26, Bakersfield, Calif. All four were transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth for minor injuries. Matz failed to yield to the Schafer vehicle.
