
Joseph Frank Aguinaga, 79, of Rochester, passed away at 11:35 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017 at Woodlawn Hospital.
On May 9, 1938, Joe was born in Chicago to Cresencio and Susan Hernandez Aguinaga. Growing up he shared his childhood as one of eight siblings. In 1956 he graduated from Kelly High School in Chicago.
Dedicated and loyal, Joe worked for the Marshall-Fields Company in Chicago, Illinois as a member of their shipping and receiving team for 38 years.
On May 9, 2007, in Logansport, Joe and Helen Ellen Walczak were married. Together they enjoyed more than a decade of life’s adventures. Helen and “Uncle Joe” cherished traveling to Chicago and visiting family and friends two times annually making many memories. To relax he enjoyed reading, especially non-fiction war stories. Grandpa Joe looked forward to the visits from the grandchildren and the great-grands. They could always count on Grandpa Joe to take them on walks to explore nature and take in the sights.
Joe is lovingly remembered by his wife, Helen; a daughter: Dawn Rubio and husband Henry of Rochester; seven grandchildren: Henry Rubio Jr., Jacquelyn Rubio, Justin Rubio, Jason Rubio and wife Heidi, Huskins Rubio, Ronnie Rubio, Jaden Rubio; nine great grandchildren; a sister: Anna Pruett of Chicago and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Joe in death are his parents and seven siblings.
A celebration of the life of Joseph Aguinaga will be at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 west 18th St., Rochester. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Military honors will be conducted by the Fulton County Veterans Honor Guard and the US Army Honors Team.
