Nelson Hoover

Nelson Hoover, 86, of New Paris, passed away on Aug. 4, 2017 at Courtyard Healthcare in Goshen. 

He was born on March 17, 1931 in Syracuse to Martin & Edith (Wogoman) Hoover.  He was employed by Reith Riley, and Smoker Craft.  He was a lifelong area resident.  

He is survived by his two daughters Diann (Bill) Dunlap of Goshen, LuAnn (Andy) Roose of Millersburg; four sons,  David (Trina) Hoover of New Paris, Phil Hoover of Syracuse, Rich (Sandi) Hoover of Middlebury, and Don (Sherry) Hoover of New Paris; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchildren; one sister, Louise Wise of North Webster; and one brother, Carl Hoover of North Carolina. 

He was preceded by his wife Lois; two sons, Terry and Dean; two daughter in laws, Karen and Karen. 

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 7, 2017 at the Eastlund Funeral Home.  Services will be held on at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 8 at the funeral home with Pastor Michael Overpeck officiating.  Burial will follow at the Syracuse cemetery with full military honors.
