GOSHEN — Michael Alcaraz, 19, Bristol, has positively been identified by the Indiana State Police as the suspect who was killed by police Wednesday morning, April 5, in the parking lot of the Double D Bar and Grill in Goshen.

Alcaraz also has ties to the Chicago area. Alcaraz died at the scene and was later taken to Kalamazoo, Mich., where an autopsy was performed Thursday. Police recovered a shotgun from Alcaraz at the scene.

The state police is asking anyone that may have been approached by the suspect or may have information about the shooting to contact the Bremen Post at (574) 546-4900.

The names of the three Goshen police officers involved in the shooting will be released Friday afternoon.
