SOUTH WHITLEY — The Whitko boys basketball team extended its winning streak to five games Tuesday night. The Wildcats hosted Peru in their home finale and earned a 68-63 victory.

The Wildcats were tied with the Tigers heading into the fourth but Whitko won the frame 21-16 to earn the win. Whitko was led by Nate Walpole’s whopping 35-point effort. River West added 17 points while Spencer Sroufe scored nine and pulled down seven boards.

Whitko (13-7, 6-3) travel to take on county rival Churubusco Saturday night.

Whtiko’s JV won 42-39. Micah Cokl led the Wildcats with 12 points.
