Barbara A. Mills, 60, Plymouth, passed away at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016, unexpectedly in her home.

Barbara was born the daughter of Robert William and Joan Mae (Butterfield) Pritchard at Valparaiso, Aug. 11, 1956. She married to William F. Mills III April 26, 1975, until 2001. She has been a resident of Plymouth for several years. Her younger years were in Valparaiso, then onto Ball State to further her education and obtained her BS Special Education; then Indiana University where she obtained her Master’s Degree in Special Education. She retired from her Special Education career with the Jesse Program where she was able to share her talent with those children in need. She was known for her “warm loving glow”. She was intent on making everyone’s day better in some way.

Barbara was a past member of Humane Society Board; she loved gardening, animals, crafts and traveling. But, most importantly she loved her family and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all.

Barbara is survive by her daughter: Brandy Stuart CPA and husband Jason, South Bend; and her son: William F. Mills IV and his wife Angela, Plymouth. She was also blessed with three grandchildren: Cassandra Stuart, William F. Mills V and Aden James Mills. Her mother Joan Mills, Plymouth; two sisters: Sherry Barnes, Ferdinand; Becky Pritchard, Plymouth; and brother, Mike Pritchard, Denver, Colo. She was preceded in death by her father, December 2015.

The Mills family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5 in Van Gilder Funeral Home 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth, IN 46563. Funeral services in honor of Barbara will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Sam Boys officiating.
