Voting Experience

This is a thank you note for 2 kind gentleman I met at Syacuse Community Center on voting day.  I am a senior citizen disabled from a mobility standpoint needing an aid to assist me in walking. I briefly considered not voting that day because of my inability to get into the SCC. On election day I drove to SCC with my wheelchair in the trunk knowing I could not remove it by myself. It was my hope that I would meet someone kind enough to help me. Boy was I right!

Within 15 seconds of parking my car a young man approached the car asking if I needed help. I said I would be most grateful if he would get my chair out of the trunk. He not only took it out of the trunk, he helped me get in it, wheeled me into the center, and up to the desk to register. After casting my ballot I needed to find good Samaritan to assist me back to my car and return the chair to the trunk. Low and behold as I approached the doors to leave a man opened the door and ask if I was alone and needed help.  My answer was yes to both questions. He wheeled me to my car, assisted me getting into the driver’s seat, placed the chair in the trunk, and wished me a good day.

To both these me I want to extend my sincere thanks. Their kindness touched my heart. This experience reinforced my belief in human nature and touched my heart with their kindness. To both of them I extend my since “thank you”!
