SYRACUSE — The first week of Wawasee’s Junior Warriors Program was quite the success. The point of emphasis for the first week was respect. The instructors set out on presenting the importance of showing respect to officials, coaches, teammates and opponents.
Second/Third Grade League
The scoring is reset after each quarter in this league and no final scores or records are kept.
In the Northern Lakes Realty vs. Integrity Medical game Dalton Hickey and Josiah Jones were listed as leading scorers for Northern Lakes while Zach Kryder was noted for his defense and ball handling. Louie Cole was listed for his defensive prowess for Integrity while Camden Reel, Davis Cowan and Bo Brunner were all noted for their offensive attributes.
In the game between Synergy RV Transport and Jasper Plastics, Nolan Holtzwart led Synergy in scoring, Luke Keim led in assists and Braedon Clay led in rebounds. For Jasper it was Derek Morrison that led in rebounds while Aaron Gause led in scoring.
The contest between Mission Contractors and Integrity Medical saw Easton Rollins and Hudson Cripe lead Mission in scoring. Integrity once again had Cole, Cowan and Brunner stand out along with Zyler Sizemore.
Fourth/Fifth Grade League
Scoring and records are kept in this league.
Lippert Components defeated Total Property Care 34-19. Lippert was led by Myles Everingham’s 11 points. Anthony Hughes and Preston Smith score four points each. Peyton Lewallen was noted for great defense. Ty Brooks led TPC with 14 points. Carson Smith added 12. Darius Lewis (four), Taden Dove (two) and Zach Ringler (two) rounded out the scoring for TPC.
Wawasee Community Bible Church defeated Vineyard Community Church 36-27. Josh Patterson led Wawasee with 18 points while Tristan Anderson added 10 and Weston Hoffert scored eight. Vineyard was led by Addison Coy’s 10 points. Robbie Finlinson scored nine, Ethan Slabaugh had six and Caden Pratt added two.
Buyrite defeated Wawasee Building Trades 28-15. Building Trades was led by six points from Kane Dukes. Hunter Fiedke and Peyton Sewell added four points each. Devin Sewell scored one. Buyrite was led by 12 points from Cole Young. Ben Peterson (10), Kyler Slowke (four) and CJ Peshel (two) rounded out the scoring for the team.
Polar Kraft defeated Wawasee Bible 25-24. Polar Kraft was led by Maddux Everingham’s 10 points. Luke Smith added six, Dane Cripe had four, Evan Byler had three and Clayton Ousley had two. Smith scored the game-winner with 10 seconds left. Wawasee was led by 14 points from Patterson.
