rita-lynn-ebert-alveyRita Lynn Ebert-Alvey, 54, Fort Wayne, died at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016.  Rita was born in Warsaw on Aug. 14, 1962, to John W. and Mary E. (Redinger) Ebert.

Although she developed health issues when she was 10 years old, she was a very active teen, participating in Atwood 4-H, WCHS Choir, WCHS Flags and providing music for her church. She was a 10-year camper at Camp Mack, Milford.  She graduated in 1981 from WCHS.  Rita attended Lutheran School of Nursing, worked in the medical industry, was a pre-school teacher and held several positions in the financial field.

Rita married Steven Alvey on Dec. 28, 2008.  Rita was very faithful to her God.  She enjoyed doing arts and crafts, but most of all she loved her family.

Rita is survived by husband: Steven; daughter: Brandy (Brad) Schnelker; stepson: Cory (Kara) Alvey; son-in-law: David Jackson; sister: Carolyn Brantley; niece: Maura Furry; mother: Mary Ebert; stepmother: Arloa Alvey; and six grandchildren: Drake; Nicole; Isabel; and Johnathon Schnelker; and Relayna; and Jace Alvey. Rita was preceded in death by her father: John W. Ebert; and stepdaughter: Amanda Jackson.

Services will be held Saturday, Sept. 10, at the Journey Church, Fort Wayne. Visitation is 10 a.m. to noon with a celebration of life to follow at noon.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to the Journey Church, Fort Wayne.
