NORTH WEBSTER — A letter from the Tippecanoe Township Advisory Board has been received noting it is still investigating the events that have occurred within the North Webster/Tippecanoe Township Fire Department.

“The statutory duties of the board include approving the annual budget, serving as a board of finance and approving township contractual agreements. The township board does not directly posses the abilities to hire and fire personnel.

“At this time, the township board has not had a formal meeting with the trustee. Attempts are in the process to bring the fire department back to full strength. The safety of the residents of Tippecanoe Township is being treated with the utmost concern.”

The board consists of Steve Carson, Richard Owen and Chris Francis.
