NORTH WEBSTER — North Webster Lions Club is ably assisted by North Webster Lioness Club in putting on the Mermaid Festival annually. This is the festival’s 71st year in existence with the 2016 theme being Indiana Bicentennial: Celebrating Indiana.

The Lionesss Club heads up the Cutie Queen and King Contest under the leadership of Alyssa Schmucker while the Queen of the Lakes Pageant is chaired by Kassy Klinefelter and Toni Clayton.

Derik Green heads up the merchants and food vendors, the cornhole tournament and the Mermaid Festival Parade for the North Webster Lions Club. Entertainment is under the direction of Mark Tevis while Darrell Clark is the chairman of the demolition derby and Dan Thystrup and Monty Lackey runs the Mermaid Festival Cutie Parade.

Lackey is additionally the head honcho of the coin toss while Dave Dishman is in charge of the festival grounds for the event.
