Virginia B. Bilyeu, 98, Moweaqua, Ill., died Wednesday, March 16, 2016, in Columbia City.

Virginia was born Oct. 14, 1917, in Moweaqua, Ill., the daughter of John B. and Margaret (Still) Robinson. She married Lyle D. Bilyeu, Feb. 20, 1938, in Moweaqua. He preceded her in death June 21, 1969.

Virginia was a member of First United Methodist Church of Moweaqua, past member of Eastern Star, WSCS, Moweaqua PTA, Moweaqua Jr. Woman’s Club and New Era Club. She worked for Dr. Foster in Moweaqua, Flora Jewelers for 19 years, Borg Warner for nine years and baked all of the desserts for the Raspberry Tea Room.

Surviving are her son, Jack Bilyeu, Panorama City, Calif.; daughter, LaMeeka “Mickey” (Lynn) English, Columbia City; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; and sister, LaVon Kroenlein, Moweaqua.

Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, son Thomas Lyle Bilyeu, one brother and three sisters.

Also surviving are longtime caregivers, Larry and Sandy Burgener and Brent Small.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 21, at First United Methodist Church, Moweaqua. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, March 20, at Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua. Burial will be in Bilyeu Cemetery, Moweaqua. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Music or First United Methodist Church Youth.
