ELKHART COUNTY — A barn fire in Elkhart County killed 10 calves Thursday morning.

Firefighters were called to the 22,000 block of CR 40.

Authorities say the building was a dairy barn. Fortunately a majority of the cattle, about 90 of them, were in a separate milking station building. They are all okay.

Crews say the barn is a total loss but no people were hurt.
