MISHAWAKA — The Indiana State Police will be partnering up with Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and the Special Olympics in a program called “Tip-A-Cop” on Saturday, Oct. 24.
Troopers from the Bremen Post will be participating at the Mishawaka Restaurant, at the corner of Main Street and Day Road. The event will take place at all 10 Red Robin Gourmet Burgers throughout Indiana.
“Tip-A-Cop” is an official Law Enforcement Torch Run Campaign fundraising event. Law enforcement officers and department personnel volunteer their time as “Celebrity Waiters” to collect tips at Red Robin Restaurants to support Special Olympics Indiana.
This event involves troopers acting as waiters alongside Red Robin staff at every Red Robin branch around the state and is a “no-risk,” easy and fun way to raise money for Special Olympics athletes in the community.
The national goal of the 2015 Red Robin “Tip-A-Cop” event is to raise more than $750,000 from all participating Torch Run programs across the country to benefit Special Olympics.
Indiana’s goal is $18,000.
The “Tip-A-Cop” event has shifts from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24.
