ANDERSON – Anderson University head baseball coach David Pressley has recently resigned his position to serve through a baseball and teaching role with Madison Academy High School in northern Alabama. Pressley replaced Hall of Fame coach Don Brandon as the head baseball coach at Anderson in 2010. He served as an assistant coach under Brandon before taking over the head coaching position.

In six seasons as head coach at Anderson, Pressley has led the Ravens to a 134-80 record, including a 81-42 record in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play. This past season Pressley was named Conference Coach of the Year as the Ravens captured both the regular season and tournament conference championships.

In his time with the Ravens, Pressley has helped produce one NCAA All-American (Michael Tucker, 2011), 21 All-HCAC players, one HCAC Pitcher of the Year (Nolan Schaefer, 2014), four All-Region players (Schaefer, 2014; Jake Craft, Cole Heberling, Ben Yoder, 2015), and one HCAC Freshman of the Year (Ryan McPike, 2013). Under Pressley’s leadership, two Anderson University players have been drafted in the MLB Draft.

“Coach Pressley has been an exceptional leader and mentor of the young men in the baseball program,” said Marcie Taylor, athletic director at Anderson University. “I’m grateful for the solid foundation he’s established; the potential for future success is present. I wish him all the best as he takes this new position.”

We have been around so many caring people and felt very supported,” said David Pressley. “I am grateful to Anderson for giving me my start in coaching and I know that AU will bring in a very capable leader for the program. We have enjoyed recent success in the program because we have had tremendous baseball players who are also tremendous men. I have enjoyed all of the relationships I have developed with my players and look forward to continuing these relationships.”
