Neil MortNeil Mort, 57, of Leesburg, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2015, at Parkview Regional Hospital in Fort Wayne.

He was born Nov. 7, 1957, to Robert W. and Clara (Couturier) Mort in Mt. Clemens, Mich. On Dec. 8, 2000, Neil married Ann Edgerton. She survives.

Neil was an agent of Hoosier Transit. He enjoyed flying RC model airplanes, riding motorcycles, boating, and playing pranks and jokes on those around him. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Neil was originally from Peru and spent his younger years growing up there. In high school he was part of Second City where he auditioned in front of Chevy Chase and Gilda Radner. Mr. Mort also taught Sunday School and drove the Joy Bus in Peru.

Surviving are his wife: Ann; daughters: Amber (Chad) Coulter; Audra (Allen) Reed; Lacey (Brandon Prochnow) Mort; Aimee (Jeremy) Gant; stepchildren: Brian (Gretchen) McEndarfer; Jodi (Matthew) Kayser; seven grandchildren: Krystin; Jalen; Brooklynn; Jordan; Marcy; Nick; Alexis; his stepdad: Ron Phillips; two stepchildren: Aiden and Marlee; three siblings: Sandi (Rick) Hartkopf, Neb.; Tim (Michele) Mort, Texas; Steve (Renee) Mort, La.. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service will be held in Mr. Mort’s honor at 11 a.m. Friday, June 26, at Mishler Funeral Home, Milford. Burial will be in Mock Cemetery, North Webster. There will be a time of visitation from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, June 25, and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
