Warsaw SportsThe Warsaw baseball team suffered a tough loss Thursday evening.

Host Goshen erased a four-run deficit to rally past the Tigers 5-4 in Northern Lakes Conference play.

Phillip Wertz was the hero for the Redskins as his two-run single with two outs in the final inning proved to be the game winner.

Warsaw, coming off a key NLC win over NorthWood Wednesday night, scored single runs in the first and third innings and a pair in the fourth to take a 4-0 lead. Goshen plated a run in the fourth and then scored twice in the sixth and seventh frames to rally for the victory.

The Tigers lost despite having 12 hits. Warsaw left eight runners on base in the contest.

Zach Witt led the offense for Warsaw with three hits. Sterling Hay had two hits and two RBI, while Tyler LaFollette had two hits with a double and Ethyn Bradley two hits for the Tigers.

Wertz had three hits and four RBI to pace Goshen.

Warsaw used four pitchers in the game.

Warsaw will host Northridge in NLC action Friday night.
