Whitko SportsARGOS – The Whitko baseball team had the bats going Saturday.

The Wildcats piled up 31 runs to sweep a doubleheader from host Argos.

Whitko won the opener by a 16-6 final in six innings.

Tanner Gaff led the 18-hit attack with a 3-4 effort with two doubles, three RBI and three runs scored.

Garrett Smiley was 3-4 with three RBI and winning pitcher Zach Snep was 2-3 with two RBI and three runs scored. Zach Hewitt had two doubles, two RBI and a pair of runs scored, while Alex Bechtold was 2-3 with two runs scored as was Riley Anderson.

The Wildcats won the second game 15-1 in five innings.

Winning pitcher Drew Bradford led the way with a 3-3 effort with three RBI.

Bechtold was 2-2 with a triple and three runs scored and Snep went 2-3 with three RBI for the Wildcats, who had 15 hits in the second game.

Whitko, now 4-2, will play at Wawasee Tuesday at 5 p.m.
