Valley Earns Split With Blue Blazers

Tippy Valley SportsELKHART – The Tippecanoe Valley baseball team earned a split in doubleheader action versus host Elkhart Central Saturday.

The Blue Blazers rallied to win the opener 10-9 before the Vikings took game two by a 7-3 final.

Valley built a 9-1 lead in the opener before Central came back. The Vikings were still up 9-5 before Central scored five runs in their final at-bat in the seventh to notch the win.

Gavin Bussard had two hits and scored four runs for Valley in game one. Austin Perdeiu had two hits and Alec Craig three RBI for the Vikings.

Jamal Scott had two hits, three RBI and scored three runs to lead Central to the win.

Perdeiu smacked a pair of home runs and drove in three runs to pace Valley to the victory in the second game. He also notched the pitching win.

Craig had a big game at the dish with two hits, two runs scored and two RBI. Jarred Littlejohn had a double for the Vikings.

Kyle Short slugged a homer for the Blue Blazers.

Valley is now 2-1 on the season, while Central drops to 1-3.

Valley plays at Triton and Central plays at Mishawaka on Monday evening.
