Warsaw SportsWARSAW – It was a case of Home Sweet Home Wednesday evening for the Warsaw baseball team.

The Tigers home opener resulted in a 3-2 win over South Bend Clay on a sun-drenched day.

Warsaw, which dropped its opener by a 7-0 count at Crown Point Tuesday night, edged past the Colonials.

Marcelo Rodriguez led the way for Warsaw with two hits, including a solo homer.

The duo of Tyler LaFollette and Cole Baker each also had a pair of hits for the Tigers in the win.

Zach Witt notched the pitching win and Jonathan Murphy collected the save for Warsaw.

The Warsaw junior varsity team topped Clay 7-6. Winning pitcher Jordan Jones had a hit for the winners.

Luke Baker, Isaac Lemon, Braxton Tennant, Alex Miller and Bryce Sensibaugh each also had a hit for JV Tigers in the win.

Warsaw (1-1) returns to action at Tippecanoe Valley on April 15.
