Michael D. Helm, national commander of the American Legion, visited North Webster American Legion Post 253 Tuesday afternoon as part of a state tour. The tour began earlier in the day at  Marion.

Helm addressed local and area Legion members with words of encouragement and support for their efforts to help military veterans.

Helm’s next stop will be at Valparaiso American Legion Post 94.
