Kent E. ‘Hippie’ Plotner, 66, of Syracuse, Ind., passed away on June 19, 2014, in Indianapolis, Ind.

He was born on Aug. 18, 1947, in Warsaw, Ind., to Robert and Flo (Mollenhour) Plotner.

He worked for Commodore Homes as well as Rinker Boat. He is a Vietnam veteran, having honorably served in the US Navy. He was a member of the Syracuse VFW #1342, Syracuse Legion #223 and the FOE #3760.

He is survived by his brother: Gail Plotner, Nappanee, Ind. ; and his longtime companion: Pam Huffer, Syracuse.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, June 23, at the Eastlund Funeral Home. There will be a graveside service with military honors at the Syracuse cemetery at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 28.
