An extensive diesel spill occurred in the roundabout at Lake Street and Fox Farm Road around 4 p.m. Friday. Officials from the Warsaw-Wayne Township Fire Territory and the city assisted with clean-up.
Firefighters on scene said approximately 100 gallons of diesel fuel spilled from a semi and was draining into the city’s stormwater system. Clean-up crews were on scene well into the evening using sand to soak up the fuel. The sand was then collected and removed from the scene.
Traffic was moving through the roundabout from the west on West Lake Street. No eastbound traffic on West Lake Street or traffic from Fox Farm Road was being permitted for much of the evening.
