Union St. Chimney Fire

Union St. Chimney FireUpdate: Claypool Fire Department, with assistance from Warsaw Fire Department and Multi-Township EMS, have the chimney fire under control. When this reporter arrived to the scene there was no longer smoke coming from the chimney and emergency personnel were beginning to disperse.

Claypool Fire Department are continuing to inspect the house for damages, but the fire seems to be under control. No injuries were reported.

We’re receiving reports of a chimney fire 3964 W. Union Street in Claypool. At 4:05 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 19, Claypool Fire Department has been called to investigate.

According to police scanner traffic, the residents of the two story home put out the fire with a fire extinguisher. However, they’re reporting heavy smoke still billowing from the chimney.

CPD is currently at the scene. We’ll have more information as it comes available.
