Claypool Fire Chief Bob Haines said a chimney fire at a rural Warsaw home Monday night was the result of built up creosote.

The small fire was reported just before 9 p.m. Monday at 4494 S. County Farm Rd. The home, owned by Gordon Vanator, sustained less than $1,000 in damages.

Firefighters from Claypool and Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory Station 1 were on scene for about 90 minutes.
